Kaisersträßle
The "Kaisersträßle" is an east-west connection over the ridge of the Schurwald dating back to the Middle Ages. Individual sections are also known as the Roman road. The "Sträßle" was once important as it was used to supply the communities and towns with timber and agricultural produce from the Schurwald. Today, you can cycle or hike along the historic route through the diverse cultural landscape between Fellbach and Wäschenbeuren. The Schurwald forest in particular, with its blades and streams and the views from Kappelberg or Kernerturm make the trail a highlight.
The Verband Region Stuttgart has improved the comfort along the route in several places with its co-financing program. The Reinhold-Maier-Turm, a former water tower converted into a viewing platform, the rest pavilion at the old Wäschenbeuren railroad station and the wall in the Schlösslepark in Baltmannsweiler were among the projects funded.
