RemstalWeg
The RemstalWeg runs north and south of the Rems from the source of the Rems on the Ostalb to where it flows into the Neckar. It crosses extensive wine-growing and woodland areas, orchards, the Vordere Hohbachwiesen and the Lower Remstal, two nature reserves, historic towns and villages. The RemstalWeg offers magnificent views from the heights down into the valley. As it runs along both sides of the Rems, it is possible to change sides within the region and walk back along a different route: starting in Fellbach to Plüderhausen and then back to the mouth of the Neckar. The 107 kilometers cannot be completed in one day, which is why the route can also be ideally completed in several stages thanks to the good public transport connections.
A special architectural highlight are the 11 stations that were created with the support of the Stuttgart Region Association for the Remstal Garden Show 2019: Architectural gems in the landscape that invite you to linger and enjoy the view. Attractive rest areas also include the Neckar beach in Remseck am Neckar, the Remsterrassen in Waiblingen and the rest area at Remsknie in Winterbach. The renaturalized areas of the Rems, for example in Schorndorf and Winterbach, are particularly attractive. There are also activity options such as the canoe route between Weinstadt and Waiblingen or the trend sports facility in Schorndorf.
